My Online Boyfriend Caught Me Rooting for His Rival

My online boyfriend and I had agreed to finally meet in person after the football championship. On the day of the final, I pulled my cap low and held up a sign, screaming myself hoarse for my brother. Then the opposing team’s captain suddenly fumbled the ball. The entire stadium erupted. My phone buzzed. My boyfriend—the one I’d never met—sent me a text. [Babe, do you like number 18?] I looked up and found the opposing captain staring straight at me from half a field away.
